In case you missed it, I’m doing the 75 Hard program. All the details are here.
I’m down to the last 3 weeks of the program. It’s going by fast and slow right now.
I’m still enjoying it, but I’m ready to switch things up for a little bit. I’ll tell you some things I’m thinking about later in the article.
First, let’s get to this week’s weigh-in, which kind of shocked me!
At one point this week I was 132.2, and I was thrilled with that! But that’s not the number that showed up this morning….
As a reminder, I’m 5'6":
Starting weight: 142 (But this was the day after a glorious 8-course meal, so it wasn’t my true weight.)
True starting weight: 140.3
Week 1 weigh-in: 137
Week 2: 136.3
Week 3: 136.3
Week 4: 134.5
Week 5: 135.2
Week 6: 135 (but poofy from sodium)
Week 7: 133.7
Week 8: 130.7!
Some people in the weight loss world call that a “whoosh”. It’s when a bigger loss happens all at once.
I know it doesn’t seem like a lot, but I only needed to lose about 10 pounds, so that’s a lot for me.
My overall weight-loss goal was to get down to about 130 pounds. I’m almost there!
I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing until the end, so we’ll have to see where I end up.
Also, my weight will likely bounce around during the week, so it’s possible that it could go up a little next week. We’ll see!
Check out how my weight has spiked up and down, but the overall trajectory is down:
This screenshot shows before I started 75 Hard. I started the program on June 20. I’ve been calorie counting off and on since forever!
So just look at the point where it starts to go down. That’s about where I started.
Here’s a typical day of eating for me:
You can see I eat very well and very balanced. I eat plenty of calories, but I’m burning a good amount with the double workouts.
How I’m feeling
Mentally I’m feeling great. I have lots of energy, and my mind feels clear. I am getting a little bored of the program. Even though I plan to continue many of these habits, I’m looking forward to changing some things up.
I also want some wine! lol
What I’m reading
I’m still reading Akasha Unleashed by Debbra Lupien, Voice of the Akashic Records. I love this book!
If you are at all into spiritual, woo-woo, manifesting, angels, guides, and that sort of thing, I highly recommend it.
It’s given me some life insights I didn’t know I needed.
I’ll be done reading this book tomorrow, and I have to make a big decision about which book to pick next. I have a ton in my pile!
I’m thinking either The Psychology of Money or Snow Leopard (written in part by
).I’ll let you know what I end up choosing next week!
Final Thoughts
Some people say the last week or two of the program is the most challenging. And I can understand why. It gets to be “just” a little old.
But, that’s part of it being hard.
This is when mental toughness is most needed.
I’ve been thinking about what I plan to do after the program is over. I know if left to my own devices, I’ll go right back into all of my old habits and I’ll be back at square 1 again.
As mentioned last week, I am considering doing Body for Life. It’s a program where you eat 6 small meals a day, with a portion of protein, a portion of carbs, and as many veggies as you like. It’s also low fat and low sugar.
One day a week you can have a free day. (Mentally, this is nice to have!)
There’s also a weight training and cardio portion to it.
I did this program many years ago, and I felt amazing!
I’m also considering doing the exercise portion of that and just continuing to count calories because that seems to be working out for me and I’m in the habit now.
I don’t know yet.
I’ll think about it more on day 75.
