Here's How I Plan to Start My New Ebook on Simple Animal-Based Recipes
7 simple steps to creating and selling an ebook...
Last night, we tried our first animal-based recipes that ChatGPT gave me:
(Don’t know what I’m talking about? Read this.)
So far, I’m impressed!
What I love about the ChatGPT recipes is:
They use simple ingredients (based on my suggestions).
They’re simple to make.
They’re really good!
They got big kudos from my picky eaters.
Here’s what I plan on doing to create the ebook:
As we try the recipes, I’ll make adjustments based on my years of cooking knowledge and practice. ChatGPT is pretty good, but it leaves out important things sometimes.
I’ll start creating recipe cards from templates in Canva:
I’ll start creating the images using Midjourney. Unfortunately, I’m not a photographer, and I don’t think I’ll be able to get nice enough photos. But I should be able to get great representations through Midjourney.
I’ll use Canva to put the book together. Since it’ll be photo-heavy, I want it to look clean and pretty.
Conduct keyword research. This should probably be step one in most cases. You want to make sure that enough people have a problem that needs to be solved. Otherwise, you won’t get many sales. But since I’m solving my own problem, I’m OK with doing this later. This is just a fun experiment.
Once the book is completed, I’ll load it up on Gumroad.
Promote the book via Substack, my email list, Medium, and social media. I’ll use those keywords to help people find it.
It’s going to take me some time to create this book because I’ll need to try out a lot of different recipes.
What I’m most nervous about is that my family isn’t going to want to do this diet long-term.
However, if that happens, I’ll continue with the book, and instead of focusing on animal-based recipes, I’ll focus on simple ChatGPT recipes (or something along those lines).
I have a few recipes from ChatGPT that we already use and like, so I can throw those in there!
I also have the domain ReviewedRecipes.com that I haven’t done much with, but I can work on getting it up and running and then promote my book on there.

These are the ideas I have, and now it’s a matter of actually doing it! That always seems to be the hardest step, right?
But that’s why I’m sharing my process.
If I know people are watching me, then it holds me accountable, and I will get it done!
I hope this helps you too! I want you to see it’s easy to create small digital products that you can sell over and over.
If I can do it, anyone can.

Alternative title: "What's for dinner, SkyNet?"
Thank you for sharing Christina! I feel like this is definitely one of the great use cases for AI, when you want to make something home cooked, but might not be feeling very inspired. It's also handy for when you have young picky eaters as well, lol.
