More Reasons Why a Mini (Atomic) Newsletter Is Awesome
Check out these higher-than-average click-through rates!
I just know my friend Gary A J Martin is going to come for me in the comments on Medium.
Gary is not a fan of the mini/atomic newsletter, and he’s not afraid to let us know it!
But, I want to show you (and Gary) why they’re awesome.
(By the way, this is referring to my intellectualists newsletter that I send via ConvertKit, not my Substack newsletter. My Substack newsletter is awesome too for different reasons!)
I have mentioned before how much I love this style of newsletter.
As a busy Hustling Housewife and mom, a mini newsletter is easy for me to manage:
I also enjoy reading them because they don’t take me long to get through.
And I’m not the only one who likes them.
I often get compliments on my newsletter from people who say they truly enjoy it.
But forget all of that.
The proof is in the pudding. (That’s such a weird saying.)
Let me show you some of my stats.
Here’s a group of newsletters I sent out at the end of July and early August.
You can see my open rates are between 35% — 45%.
Even better, my click rates are somewhere between 10% — 15%.
Here are a couple of interesting stats from this website.
Average open rates are 35.63%. I’m right on par with that.
Average click-through rates are 2.62%, which my mini newsletter eviscerates.
My subscriber list is still pretty small, and as it grows, I’m sure these numbers will change a bit.
But for now, getting a mini newsletter started is the best way to dip your toes into email marketing.
If you’re struggling with how to start, I have a new ebook coming soon!
(I’m not 100% sure if it will be called Email Money or Mini Email Mastery. Let me know if you like one better than the other.)
I love to keep things simple, and you cannot get any simpler than the mini newsletter.
I’m going to show you everything step-by-step in my new book, and you’ll see exactly how easy it is.
(And now that I’ve put this out there, I have to complete it! Public accountability for the win!)
Did you know I also share short lists of links to everything I learn about creating $5k+ per month in this mini newsletter? → intellectualists.com
I started a new atomic newsletter a couple weeks ago for one of the businesses I manage. This week we got to 600 subscribers and I had two days with 50%+ open rates.
I love minimalist/atomic newsletters because the current advice for emails is to tell stories and connect to your audience so they'll buy from you. It has always felt like the salesmen who dig for something in common to "bond" over so that you feel obligated to buy from your new best friend. YUCK. Just get to the point (in this case, links with brief descriptors). I appreciate having my time valued.
